Clean Rakhine is an independent, community-focused non-profit civil society organization working to promote environmental protection, sustainable practices and community participation across Arakkha region, striving to be established as an effective, accountable and transparent institution in Arakkha Pray region of Myanmar, with the goal of protection and rehabilitation of the vulnerable, and ultimately ensuring sustainable development of the local community. Clean Rakhine’s long-term dedication is to developing food security and livelihood aspect; enhancing the capacity of climate resilience; and empowering the vulnerable communities. Clean Rakhine is also dedicated to intervene with prolonged emergency responses (such as relief activities, water and sanitation, livelihood, MRE, Protection, child protection, etc.) during any acute and/or chronic emergency periods. The Clean Rakhine was founded in 2018 by a group of young people in downtown of Sittwe . On February 3rd, it was formed based on environmental protection. The reason for the organization's emergence is owing to the increasing pressure and problems of environmental damage across Rakhine. So Clean Rakhine has been actively involved in helping with their capacity on the mitigation natural crises and eliminating illegal littering and making cities clean and peaceful was the aim of establishing Clean Rakhine.
